Even in 2001 when the indoor smoking ban in restaurants and pubs came into effect in BC people predicted the end of the hospitality business entirely, and it turned out that smoking kept more people away than attracted them.

They cried about their freedoms being removed. They broke the rules & smoked in the washrooms, detectors would go off & they'd be escorted out by authorities upon landing.
