It means, tragically, that Trump's bullying and threats have successfully intimidated them. When in fact they should tell him he can sue them for $5bn all he likes, they are refusing to pay him a penny because he's a cunt.

If they work, why not use those tools for good, though?

A better way to beat Reform would be to actually oppose them, rather than trying to become them, as Labour is presently doing. The Greens offer a genuine alternative.

We moved from Cambridge (UK) back in 1999 when our kids were small, and have never regretted it! Ideal if you work freelance, not so great if you need a day job, because those are few and far between.

Damn right. There's always been, shall we say, a vulgarity to US politics which seemed profoundly inexplicable to us as Brits - at least until they began to export it here - and it seems like Trump's regime has taken that vulgarity, amplified it and turned it into the country's primary identity.
