i started to dread tartarus bc it becomes so repetitive, but i found the story much more thematically cohesive than p5, the other persona i've played. i also really liked that the party have developing relationships that have nothing to do with you. i NEED yukamitsu to kiss <3

71. ladies in hating by alexandra vasti

this book's title rather oversells the actual amount of hating that occurs in it but it's funny and wonderfully romantic. and love to see tradpub f/f with some properly unabashed horniness!! ms vasti PLEASE write more f/f i AM prepared to beg

70. the potency of ungovernably impulses by malka older

i loooove these little books i could read 57 of them. pleiti's narrative voice is scrumptious to me. i love how romantic the relationship between her and mossa has become by this instalment. can't wait for the next one

69. adventure time: distant lands

back when this came out i only watched the bubbline episode so it was nice to finally actually watch the rest of it. i thought the bmo ep was the weakest, the finn and jake episode was great, and i was surprised by how much i liked the peppermint butler one

68. the celebrity traitors

a real masterclass of reality tv editing. they got handed a goldmine ending but i'm sure if nick had been edited differently it wouldn't have been half as fun a twist as it was. looking forward to series 2 - it's fun to watch celebs take it a bit less seriously

67. mr burton

the best part of this was the quiet tragedy of burton erasing his welshness from himself to become acceptable in the eyes of hollywood. i think i would've liked a version of this film more that focused in more on that than the classic inspiring mentor-turned-father angle

66. mary and the witch's flower

the miyazaki inspiration is worn proudly on this film's sleeve, from the themes to the influence of british children's literature to the gorgeous animation. but a miyazaki film it is not, and i found the depth a little shallow

65. gallant by v.e. schwab

this is the first schwab i've tried since shades of magic, and like shades of magic i think this is just fine. i do quite love the idea of the novel but i think i might've liked it more as a short story. stretched out as it is the characters didn't speak to me much.

64. i hate suzie

deeply unpleasant watch (complimentary). there's some really great episode concepts here (4 and 8 are my favourites) and billie piper is really fantastic in it

63. the life of a showgirl by taylor swift

i'm a lifelong fan of hers, but there's nothing of the taylor swift i love on this record. she's exhausted what there is to mine of herself, the ouroboros finally eating its own tail. i hope she snaps out of it and makes some art worth listening to again

saw it live years ago but this was my first time watching the proshot. i know the vibe on it has gotten a lot more complicated since 2015, in many ways rightly so, but i really can't deny how insane it is that it's two and a half hours of straight bangers. not a single skip

61. the transgender history by susan stryker

found this really accessible and informative. i really rate the audiobook - the narrator did a fantastic job conveying stryker's rage and depth of feeling over some of this subject matter

it's been a minute since i've serial binged a bunch of fanfic about the same idiots falling in love like i'm doing lines of cocaine and i've been having a good time. the romcom possibilities that open up when it's a throuple are so fun i feel like i've unlocked a whole new beautiful world

60. who's the clown by audrey hobert

fuck anyone who has insinuated that this is cringe you guys are boring. i think it's incredibly sharply written, funny, and self assured in its vision. bowling alley and sex in the city in particular feature wonderful storytelling. and it's also fun as hell!!

not much of a music guy but listing a couple albums bc i feel like it

there's some corkers on this. i REALLY love true believer, which is both angry protest music & fits right in on the album as a piece about a very personal kind of loss

this was fine. it was pretty engaging and read very briskly but i didn't come away feeling that i'd gotten much out of it besides a neat little mystery to pass the time

character designers for this one not as based as the one for 3h though because the women are wearing fuckass sexualised outfits again
