Because that’s too terrifying. Because saving the planet perpetuates the idea of our dominion over it. Because it can be more easily co-opted by narratives of space colonisation etc as a plan B.

Yes. And one reason why I’ve never been able to get into the idea of wandering around going about daily life with headphones, or background music in the car / house etc. Needs to be more intentional to me, and match
mood / activity / surroundings.
