Oh for sure, and I wonder if there's more shiftiness because of the determination to stick to pre-approved lines as well, and thus more interrupting and so on. I'm not sure the current way of doing things is really working for anyone though.

Jeremy Paxman has a lot to answer for.

Less flippantly, the reliance on broadcast clip/occasional press conference as the primary way of communicating on TV is probably a big part of this, though I'm not sure whether the driving force behind that is politicians or the media

Malta was very enjoyable earlier this month, and I think similarly warm in February. Only 3 hours from London, but it’s not exactly cheap.
