Rachel Maddow covered this dispute last week. IIRC, the admin wants to take over that Coast Guard station to turn it into an ICE detention facility. (But no, this does not answer your question about what a *patriotic* American would do.)

Trump has never flown commercial, so unless he’s peeved by videos he sees on Fox News (and maybe that’s it?), he wouldn’t even know what regular people at the airport look like.

I doubt he realizes that his usual power move of sitting at the desk and making guests stand around him has the effect here of highlighting the contrast between old/tired/weak with young/vigorous.

Those 8 Dems took the hit for some larger group of Dems who wanted to cave. (This is clear from who did it -- not one is up in '26.) So, even if your Senators voted no, CALL THEM ANYWAY!!

I put the DC and local office numbers for my Senators and Rep. in my contacts. It makes those calls quick and easy!

It’s really all you can do when your own senators are solid. Most senators ignore calls from non-constituents, so there’s not much point in calling other state’s squishes.
