A tense situation has developed between police forces and citizens gathered near Gyumri City Hall. There is a decision to arrest Gyumri Mayor Vardan Ghukasyan, who is currently inside the city hall building.

Gyumri Mayor Vardan Ghukasyan was arrested during a raid on the city hall, Armenia’s Anti-Corruption Committee reported on Monday. Seven other individuals were also taken into custody.

On July 10, 2025, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev held a bilateral meeting in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, to discuss various aspects of the Armenia-Azerbaijan normalization agenda.
Armenia and Azerbaijan agreed to continue bilateral negotiations and confidence building measures between the two countries.

The Ani Cathedral in Turkey is being restored, and while some Turkish sources have referred to it by its Seljuk-era mosque name, there’s no indication it will actually be converted into one. An official on site says the project is strictly about preservation.
