And I would have replaced Rush’s quote with Ben Franklin. After the convention, he was asked if we built a republic or a monarchy - Franklin’s response “a republic, if you can keep it” speaks to the need for Americans to be engaged in their democracy. The “revolution’s not over” felt a little off 🤷🏻‍♀️

I would have replaced Jefferson’s last quote to remind folks that the Constitution was meant to be updated to be reflective of the people: “Every constitution, then, and every law, naturally expires at the end of 19 years. If it be enforced longer, it is an act of force and not of right.”

I thought it was definitely a solid series. I would have chosen different quotes to end it all on, but it feels as though Burns has grown with this project and it was beautifully delivered.
