😳🤦‍♂️ That is shockingly ignorant!

Then again, when I had the audacity to invite a Stó:lo elder in to my classroom (Southern BC) for a guest lesson, I got furious responses from parents.

It’s the variety, the huge difference between the individual patches that makes a quilt so incredibly beautiful.
We are better together.

That sounds like the stupidest, most frustrating reason! It must hurt & infuriate so much not being given a fair chance because of racism.
Did you both get hurt earlier?
Our worlds are very different indeed. When I was engaged to a Interior Salish woman ages ago, families and friends were all in.

The US seems to be on a stunningly pure fascist fast track towards totalitarianism.
European countries best prepare for an influx of asylum seekers from across the Pond.

Heck, it might even work...

Christopher Browning’s book: "Ordinary Men” describes this exact phenomenon. It is beautifully written, difficult to read, and was required reading during Military Science. We really should know better by now.

Feels powerful because it’s profoundly humble, even sad, yet hopeful.
Kudos.

"For small creatures such as we, the vastness is bearable only through love"
That is the most beautiful sentence I’ve heard today.
Thanks for sharing!

A prevailing sentiment across the Pond is that we want our friend and ally back.
We see a bastion of democracy slide into a very pure form of fascism at break-neck speed.
At this rate, we will find each other on opposing sides on the world stage before long.

Beautifully said.
The purest form of strength is kindness. Never mistake it for weakness.
