I just signed a @theactionnetwork.bsky.social petition: Tell Target: Christians want ICE out of Minnesota. Please consider joining me. I love Target but am sad they are not like COSTCO that stood up to Trump last year. Companies have choices, just like we do.
Tell Target: Christians want ICE out of Minnesota
We've witnessed faith leaders and allies on the ground leading a faithful resistance to get ICE out of Minnesota. We stood in prayer and solidarity with Minneapolis people of faith and good conscience...

This song lifts my spirits when the world is dark and cruel. Minneapolis is showing us what real love is.

“Wearing helmets, gas masks and camouflage fatigues, the federal agents took aim and prepared to open fire. “It’s like Call of Duty,” one could be heard saying via a TV mic, referring to a first-person shooter military video game. “So cool, huh?””

Thinking of Vaclev Havel’s “The Power of the Powerless” which includes this: “Because the regime is captive to its own lies, it must falsify everything. It falsifies the past. It falsifies the present, and it falsifies the future.”
Philadelphia sues over removal of slavery exhibit at Independence National Historical Park
Outraged critics are accusing President Donald Trump of “whitewashing history” after the National Park Service removed an exhibit on slavery at Philadelphia’s Independence National Historical Park.

Just called my Senator’s office. After seeing 8 Dems in the House support ICE funding - despite ICE’s illegal and unconstitutional policy allowing invasion of a private home without a judicial warrant - I am taking no vote in the Senate for granted. This is a red line regardless of party!

Please sign and boycott: “Major corporations named in recent reporting include Amazon, Microsoft, Target, Home Depot, AT&T, Comcast, UPS, and FedEx. These are some of the most powerful brands in the world, and their services and infrastructure help make Donald Trump’s deportation agenda possible.”
Tell Corporations: Stop Collaborating with ICE
Every deportation flight, corporate contract, and service agreement that keeps Immigration and Customs Enforcement running sends the same message: corporate America is choosing profit over human lives...

Please, please call/email your Senators and Congress person when they do the right thing, not just the wrong thing. Don’t reserve those contacts for the times when you disagree. These officials are under enormous stress during the Trump regime and we need to express support as often as possible.

“ If a so-called prophetic voice never threatens its own community, never unsettles its own loyalties, and never risks its own status or influence, it is not prophetic. It is court prophecy. It is false prophecy.” Powerful. God, we are listening. Show us where we need to repent ourselves.

Thank you, Russell Moore for a timely warning: “What some Christians draw from this, then, is that whatever the state does in using lethal force (or bearing “the sword” as Paul put it in verse 4) is morally legitimate and those who question it are wrong.”
Christians, Let’s Stop Abusing Romans 13 - Christianity Today
Believers often use the passage to wave away state violence, but that’s the opposite of what Paul intended.

Jesus Christ: “Love your enemy.”

Donald Trump: “I hate my opponent.”

The two statements are diametric opposites.

The implications are innumerable and the consequences of each are enormous.

Following Christ leads one away from Trump.

Following Trump leads one away from Christ.

Never think your opinion doesn’t count. You only vote for Representatives and Senators every few years. But your voice matters every day. If you don’t call/write them on issues you care deeply about, you are surrendering your power. I was staff in Congress and calls/emails make a difference.

As we approach Christmas, I am struck by the fact there is nothing wrong with America that following Jesus’ example of love and service wouldn’t fix.

For performers who want to boycott the Kennedy Center - because a corrupt Board added Trump’s name to it - please move your event to nearby George Mason University’s Center for the Arts or Eagle Bank Arena. We know many of you need the money and Fairfax would welcome you.

We the People are not powerless between elections. Boycott the Kennedy Center and performers who perform there. Boycott Amazon whose wealthy owner donated to the destruction of the East Wing….and on and on. Audit your spending. Every dollar you spend is a vote.

Did you know this history? I didn’t. The Equal Justice Initiative @eji.org shares daily on-this-date history posts. How great if these were shared in high school US history classes. It’s hard to stomach that our nation once did this, but it also deepens appreciation for how far we’ve come.

GAO: Millions of US workers are eligible for taxpayer-funded Medicaid and SNAP food benefits. How is this not government subsidies for private business? All on top of big tax breaks (tax expenditures) for large companies. Time US companies (not taxpayers) paid full freight for business expenses.

Thanks to Jennifer Ross for this graphic. Civilians in the USG should also read in light of illegal/unconstitutional orders from DOJ and DHS. Actually, private sector employees might want to observe this too since there are cases or corporate fraud and illegal conduct.
