I dislike it when people exaggerate or use Hyperbole on factually definable points in political arguments.

Save the hyperbole for the subjective and stick to the facts for the objective.

Cincinnati Election 2025: Official Turnout for the City was 31.73%

Dems get attacked for what Republicans are doing.

Also: “Journalists” discounting the effect that this type of headline has on the under-informed voter is getting closer to being the standard behavior of “journalists.”
🤬 How Are Democrats This Dumb!?

@petertwinklage.bsky.social is back with today's 'First Draft' on liberals fumbling what should have been their best week of the Trump era, calls for “hooligan Halligan” to be disbarred, and Nicki Minaj addressing the United Nations?

The News Media is in the Entertainment Business. Journalism is not a focus.
You'll ignore this, but every time you tweet angrily about crap like that Nuzzi piece you're confirming NYT editors' intuitions/incentivizing more of it. The entire intellectual/journo model here is, "Does this person get people angry? Yes? OK they're provocative/get talked about. Write about her."

Thinking what Cincinnati election data to publish:
1)Generational Turnout
2) Neighborhood Turnout
3)Areas with Trump vote that didn’t vote this year.
4)Where did Bowman get votes, but Republican Council candidates didn’t.

What else?

In Cincinnati it is unclear: who voted? Did turnout in the city grow with older, younger, and/or mid aged voters?

A surprise increase in turnout came & pundits don’t know where it came from. We’ll just have to wait to find out. The news media won’t find it of entertainment value, so will skip it.

If any journalist/pundit claimed that the 2025 Cincinnati Mayoral election was EVER in doubt, they were either vastly ignorant about Cincinnati politics or were lying.

The Cincinnati news media that pumped up Republicans, the Charter Party, and their proxies need to reflect on WHY they ran so many news articles that promoted these candidates and WHO consumed them and WHERE those people lived and WHAT they can do to be better journalists and WHEN they will do it.

Cincinnati City Council Election Final: 100% Reporting

Democratic endorsed candidates win all 9 seats by a huge margin.

Cincinnati City Council Election: Abs/Early Vote:
Democrats have 9 top positions. 10th place candidate is over 2K votes down.

Still a lot more vote to count, but Dems have a strong early position.

Cincinnati Mayoral Election: Absentee/Early Vote:
Aftab Pureval: 81.72%
Corey Bowman: 18.25%

I have seen more than enough. Pureval is the winner.

The Hamilton County BOE Website appears to be having issues.

Waiting for the Flop of Absentee/Early votes on election night is one of those times that as soon as you step away from you desk, the HamCo BOE will drop the flop.

Cincinnati Election 6:58PM:
Turnout in the City: 30.71%
Votes Cast: 66,651

Made over 30% turnout, 31% is likely. This is higher than predicted. I am seeing an increase over 2021 rates in nearly all city precincts.
November 5, 2025 at 12:08 AM
Cincinnati Election 5:03PM:
Turnout in the City: 25.92%
Votes Cast: 56,261

That exceeds turnout from 2021 easily, with a lot more vote to come in.
November 4, 2025 at 10:12 PM
Cincinnati Election 3:04PM:
Turnout in the City: 21.37%
Votes Cast: 46,394

We are very much on pace to exceed turnout from 2021. 28.8% is the projection based on average vote through 3PM. That rate has gone up from 28% even earlier. 30% is possible.

JD Vance just voted by mail. His ballot was mailed to an address that is not his home or residence of the VP.

Why did Trump allow this to occur here in Ohio?
🚨BREAKING: On Election Day, President Donald Trump renewed claims of election fraud — this time targeting California’s mail voting system, calling it “rigged” and threatening a “legal and criminal review” of ballots being cast in the closely watched special election.

This data includes an uptick in Absentee Ballots.

We need adult education programs that teach Civics and Media Literacy. These need to be free and void of social stigma. People are ignorant but need to know these subjects to properly vote in our society.
November 4, 2025 at 5:58 PM
Cincinnati Election 11:15AM:
Turnout in the City: 14.73%
Votes Cast: 31,963

Average hourly votes: 3,494
Assuming the average number is maintained the rest of the day, that would target a turnout of 28%. This is supports the ABS/Early increase over 2021 indications.

Nostalgia: I remember when local media would have real coverage of local elections on Election Day.

At this point we lack coverage of voting, even as a feature. In our world of Internet connectivity, there is no connection. People are more concerned with national politics, sports, or entertainment.

Cincinnati Election 9:00AM:
