If anyone knows a means of shopping for a mortgage refi that doesn’t involve DoSing your own phone for several days: kindly LMK.

PSA: The rate on a previous mortgage is not relevant to the rate on a refi. If someone presses you for this detail, it’s to offer you a more profitable rate for them, not a better rate for you. Always refuse. The only relevant numbers are the principal to be refinanced and the rate on the new loan.

“It should be the color of Pepto Bismol.” - From Susan Stamberg’s annual ceremonial reading of Mama Stamberg’s Cranberry (Horseradish) Relish Recipe. Thanks to @npr.org and Susan Stamberg for decades of service, knowledge sharing, and fun! She will be missed.

Hey @netflix.com! There’s a simple change you all could make to fix an annoying UX issue on iPad and iPhone: Today, Ethernet connectivity is broken. If you change APIs so your app won’t ignore Ethernet in favor of WiFi, we could fill our devices for long flights much faster. Please consider! Thanks!

Recently, my book THEY CALLED US ENEMY was banned – again – in Tennessee. Book bans are out of control. Huge parts of American history are being restricted. To join me in standing up for the freedom to read, go to pen.org/action. @penamerica.bsky.social @topshelfcomix.bsky.social @idwpublishing.com

Hey @tmobilesupport.bsky.social What number do I call to cancel every line of service I have with you? I won’t be using your spy app for that purpose, but I will be cancelling. This is an exceptional breach of trust.

T-Mobile secretly records iPhone screens and claims it's being helpful
T-Mobile has a ridiculous feature in its heavily promoted T-Life iPhone app which sends the firm screen recordings without permission, and by default.

Another day of reminding everyone of Carl Sagan’s eerily accurate warning about the dangers of not being able to ask skeptical scientific questions to those in power or authority.

@deviantollam.bsky.social Can you recommend a supplier for an anti-under-door-tool dingus for a lever set? I’ve found several 3D printing files, but can’t contrive a search term that finds a commercial product. TIA!

Literally never buying another @synologyofficial.bsky.social product. They just can’t be trusted anymore. I was a big fan, both for business and personal use. Time to move to Qnap, Asustor, or TrueNAS + BYO.

Location data has been used to target many vulnerable groups -- immigrants, the LGBTQ+ community, and anyone seeking reproductive healthcare. It’s a tool of surveillance, and it’s being weaponized. Here’s how some legislators are fighting back to protect your privacy.
Privacy on the Map: How States Are Fighting Location Surveillance

Dear every social media app (except Bsky: Y’all cool):

STOP ASKING FOR ACCESS TO MY CONTACTS.

You’re not getting it. Asking every time I launch your app means I’m more likely to just delete it.
