To be fair Alison, according to him he also built the red road flats almost single handedly 😂 but I think the barrowland's story does have at least a grain of truth to it.

My Dad tells the story of building the box offices firstly against the wall, but was told by owner (or manager) to rip them out and build them again but at an angle on each side in order that he could stand in middle and watch both booths at same time to make sure staff were not dipping the till!

Mudhoney did a signing at the record shop I worked in while Sonic Youth were signing at a rival/friends record store around the corner. This was time of split 12" with Mudhoney doing Halloween and Sonic Youth doing Touch Me I'm sick. Lots of kids running between stores to get signed my both!
