On the eve of #aras25, I’m revising my chapter for the new edition of The Irish Presidency. A favourite detail: deliberations took place between 1938 & 1939 on an appropriate car that would give the president space to remove a top hat in a dignified way. The winner? A burgundy Chrysler limousine!

Today, the UK Supreme Court ruled that the terms ‘woman’ and ‘sex’ refer exclusively to 'biological sex', deciding that trans women are not legally women under the Equality Act.

In honour of #WorldBookDay, my favourite childhood book. it’s a series of stories about Haggerty O’Hare and his friends & their forest fun. Given the animals have identities, friendships & feelings, I sometimes wonder if it shaped my decision later in life to become vegetarian & then #vegan 🌱
