Book no.21 for 2025: The Buffalo Hunter Hunter. I plan to finish this before year’s end since I’m now officially on staycation!

The ground is still cold and very wet from the recent snowfall, but I took Boo Radley 👻💩 out in the backyard anyway to check on things and she went wild with mini zoomies 🤪 #dogsofbluesky #ciaheartsbooradley

The bike lane last night on 2nd Street off Harsimus Cove Light Rail station was still covered with slushy snow in Jersey City. 🚲 We can’t be expecting our food to be delivered during the coldest days when the people who use these lanes can’t be safe.

I wish there was an Okdongsik in Jersey City; a small bar where I can just sit and slurp a bowl of Korean gomtang during the coldest of cold days. I don’t mind going to Koreatown in NYC, but I’d rather just bike around my neighborhood to get it. #ciaeatsnyc

A seal at Harsimus Cove stop. Very useful sign when it’s 38F, raining, and dark outside. It doesn’t matter when the Light Rail is coming! #njtransit But maybe @mikiesherrill.bsky.social has thought about it!

This is why I just use Pocahontas when I buy coffee. They never misspell or mispronounce Pocahontas.

Unbelievable. The Jersey Avenue Light Rail wait time screen has a wallpaper. Meanwhile, Garfield Avenue still doesn’t have any screens! NONE! #njtransit @mikiesherrill.bsky.social

One of my favorite cookbooks of all time is Fuchsia Dunlop’s “Land of Plenty”. I think it was responsible for introducing Sichuan cuisine outside of China; it certainly introduced it to my stomach. This is “yuxiang qiezi”, or fish-fragrant" eggplant. #ciacooksjerseycity

Isn’t Transit app more reliable? It’s always 20+ minutes away when I need it from JSQ after 7pm but at least it’s there. The NJ Transit app is so badly designed, so I rarely use it except to complain about the Light Rail.
December 5, 2025 at 4:45 PM
Feels like 24F outside and windy in Jersey City and the Light Rail decided
to skip my scheduled train. Been waiting 26 minutes out in the cold. I wish @mikiesherrill.bsky.social was here to keep me warm.

I’ve been watching “Antiques Roadshow” on Netflix. One of the episodes featured a painting on leather by Winfred Rembert. The painting was appraised at ~$100k. The appraiser said Rembert survived a lynching, learned to paint in jail, wrote a Pulitzer memoir. So this is Book no.19 of 2025. #booksky

Sunday Scaries roasted branzino filets served with homemade green salsa. The skin was broiled for ~2 minutes and was so crispy.
