Uniform dynamics of cohesin-mediated loop extrusion in living human cells - Nature Genetics
Live-cell fluorescence microscopy and polymer simulations in human HCT116 cells show similar cohesin density, residence times and extrusion speed across multiple genomic regions.

Our data are consistent with constant binding rate, lifetime and extrusion speed of cohesin across different regions. This argues for a model where TAD dynamics is mainly governed by CTCF sites and opens the door to predictive simulations of DNA folding across the entire human genome. (3/4)

Tracking the 3D motion of loop anchors in multiple genomic regions, we confirm that TADs are highly dynamic. Our analyses indicate that TADs constantly fold into multiple extruding loops that bring anchors briefly together ~1x per hour, effectively shrinking their genomic distance by ~0.1 kb/s.(2/4)
