Trying to diagnose my ETA 2824-2 that skips when I wind it, which I assume is a common problem since everyone talks about winding problems with this movement. Time to order some parts, clean, lube, and reassemble. Wish me luck, I have absolutely no idea what I’m doing! 😎

This is the first year I’ve had fun handing out candy on Halloween in a very long time. It’s also the first year I haven’t been a completely miserable piece of shit on Halloween for a very long time, so I imagine that has something to do with it.

I disassembled and reassembled an ST36 mechanical watch movement for the first time today. I’m hoping that I can get good enough at this that I can clean and repair my own watches someday soon. Until then I’ll keep practicing on cheap and broken movements.

I switched from Bartender to open-source Hidden Bar today to help manage my laptop’s Taskbar icons. I couldn’t be happier to ditch the annual upgrade fee, not to mention Hidden Bar is in the App Store, which makes it a breeze to upgrade.
