Great article in NYT about Marine Carbon Dioxide Removal (mCDR). It doesn't minimize the complexities nor controversies. This is what good scientific journalism should strive for.

And, of course, there is a gender angle on Trump's new plan for student-loan borrowers, too. Women, with an average debt of $115,000, make up 73% of the student-loan bankruptcy filers.

Instead of encouraging student-loan forgiveness through income-based repayment plans, Trump is encouraging borrowers to file for bankruptcy and damage their credit scores for years.
January 4, 2026 at 4:44 PM
By eliminating existing repayment plans like SAVE, limiting eligibility for Public Service Loan Forgiveness, and placing new borrowing caps on advanced degree programs, Trump's Big Beautiful Bill has forced many borrowers to declare bankruptcy.
