It’s just sad and frustrating in fandom these days because none of it’s actually even helping anyone. No real life people are safer because of this, it’s just powerless kids wanting to feel righteous anger in a messed up world… but the end result is anxiety and scared artists and rising puritanism

And 2) even if shippers want to lean into the “brothers”/incest angle, that was just another standard kink in fandom as long as I can remember—same as CNC, unusual power dynamics, gender bending… it’s all for fun, playing pretend with made up characters and telling stories to each other

100% agree—sorry, not to jump on your post, I was just searching for cute saboace art 😂 but yeah!!
Like 1) most saboace shippers I know also see them as “brothers in arms” and ship it as more of a childhood sweethearts/best friend thing (and it’s such a good ship! It’s so bittersweet and romantic!)
