a good start, when blocking, i'd recommend turning on Flat colour shading,and focusing only on sillhouette, ignore anatomy details etc,untill You are content with the overall shape!

Its hard to go step-by-step via Replies, but lemme tell You - its possible, its just Lattices and blender are very temperamental.
i.e. you will need to apply all transforms on eye for one, and then you will need to snap Cursor for eye volume(middle) and then You should Scale... its a process...

You could incorporate Spherical eye and then squeeze it into socet using Lattice, as a workaround.
