I think it had more to do with one prof that was really into it. Given the nature of programming though understanding that background was important. I would have to think hard about the specific courses these days but it sparked quite an interest for me to continue reading more history of it since

We went to US Mobile recently. Cut our bill by 2/3 and did their multi-network plan so when the T-Mobile network doesn’t have service we can switch to Verizon with the push of a button and neither gets all our money.
