The work trap had 27 RDP, Radford's, 2 DBM, 3 P.vitrealis, 3 White-speck, White-point & Angle Shades among 90/20. Also a Cosmopolitan found by a security light

A rare night off from trapping here in Plymouth tonight, but I still managed to get a lifer as I put out hedgehog food. A Slender Burnished Brass was in its lure trap. Devon's 9th, and the first since 1999. The last one in my 10km was the 1st record in 1943!

Following on from my first for Devon Dichomeris acuminatus on 2nd October, Phil Sterling has dissected the large Phycitodes sp that I also had on the same night in my Plymouth trap. It turned out to be a female Homeosoma nebulella, just the 2nd record for Devon after one in September 1987!

A rather battered gelechid that came to my Plymouth garden trap on 2nd October has been confirmed by gendet as Dichomeris acuminatus. The 4th or 5th (pending a record in Sep from the Scillies) record for the UK. A Phycitodes sp caught on the same night is awaiting confirmation

A good evening using wine ropes from our holiday cottage near Oban last night: 17 Angle Shades, 3 Pink-barred Sallow, 4 Square-spot Rustic, Sallow, Red-line Quaker, Chestnut, Dark Sword-grass and a lifer with Red Sword-grass. Much more productive than using lights!

Antigastra catalaunalis, Palpita vitrealis, Vestal, Small Mottled Willow, 6 Rusty-dot Pearl & 7 Rush Veneer among 70 species in my Plymouth garden overnight. P.purpuralis was new for the garden, plus 2 more Caloptilia honoratella candidates, making 4 this year
