Also, I am very open to being told I'm wrong on this. I don't see every story and would really love to hear about B.C. Liberal MPs citing the environment or concerns about Indigenous people.

Good on him. He does have principles.

I hope he won't be the only one. So far I haven't seen any of the B.C. Liberal MPs speaking off the record cite the environment for the reason they're "hopping mad", just their concerns about their own electability.

The result of the current path could well be a project tied up for years with court battles and beset by protests, and a decline in Liberal fortunes in BC and no offsetting gains in Alberta.

Meanwhile other states will continue moving towards a low carbon future. www.carbonbrief.org/analysis-chi...
Analysis: China’s CO2 emissions have now been flat or falling for 18 months - Carbon Brief
China’s carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions were unchanged from a year earlier in the third quarter of 2025, extending a flat or falling trend that started in March 2024.

It's not hard to imagine the Liberals bleeding enough support to hand significant chunks of BC to the Conservatives in the next federal election. And unlike in Alberta, the Liberals have significant ground to lose in BC.

Same goes for First Nations. The federal government is going to spend a lot of time and money in court explaining how they could be serious about consulting with Indigenous peoples in accordance with s35 obligations, when they approved the project in principle before the conversation even began.

So the pattern appears to be that PM Goldman Sachs caves to far right bullies who don't have Canada's best interests at heart. First Trump and now Danielle Smith. Got it.

I know I've said that PM Goldman Sachs thinks he's a CEO. Frankly, he doesn't seem competent enough to run a Fortune 500 organization.

And the Liberal caucus worried about their careers when they should probably worry more about their de facto Conservative PM.

Carney, again stepping on rakes.

While Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada doesn't engage in de jure anti-Black racism, it 100% engages in de facto anti-Black racism.
