As some of you already know, my father passed just a few weeks ago. Now that I'm back in Las Vegas, I wanted to share some thoughts on his death, his life, and what I see as his legacy.

Never lived easy. Wasn’t going to die that way either. Not even if the world ended around me.

I rolled to one side and slowly, painfully, pushed myself back to my feet."

NBA League Pass doing hero's work in saving me from watching yet another Pels Q4 collapse.

Yet another Pels game I can't watch on League Pass because the NBA is convinced Las Vegas is part of Los Angeles or Sacramento.

#FantasyIndiesJanuary 6:

I don't pay a lot of attention to tropes, to be honest, but always like found family and platonic love.

"Iron laws of the world"? Some of America's most important national accomplishments are about leading humanity away from this kind of bullshit.

If we let ideologues like Stephen Miller drag us back into a world where brute force is all that matters, all of us will be less safe.

#FantasyIndiesJanuary Day 5:

I try to write M-F... at least a few hours before lunch and a few hours after. If I'm on schedule and it's sunny and warm out, I'll then spend some time in the afternoon out back, reading and listening to music while my subconscious figures out what to write next.

Ultimately another disappointing performance by a very bad team

Really nice ATO play to get Trey a clean look.

Two bad plays for Queen out of the timeout.

Not a bad start for the Pels. Powell might have 50 against us tonight though.

Doesn't look like the RNG was in my favor this year. Hopefully, I'll be awake and coherent enough to try again next year!
Finally was awake/coherent on the right day to submit to #SFBO.

I debated between See These Bones and Speaker of Tongues, but went with the latter as I think it (even as a LitRPG) is better suited for a wider (i.e. random) judging audience than angry boi Damian.

It was a tough choice though!

#FantasyIndiesJanuary Day 4

John's goals for Godswar revolve around:

-Finding out who murdered [spoiler]
-Keeping San Diego from being destroyed
-Surviving his parents' unexpected visit
-Losing 10 lbs

And oh yeah, the long-awaited, much-delayed, possible birth of his impossible child. 😅

#FantasyIndiesJanuary Day 3:

I was having a pretty bad dream even before the demigod of nightmares showed up. Some of that was probably the carne asada burrito I’d had for second dinner, or the extra guac I’d gotten along with my double order of fries, but most of it?

Most of it was the fire.

Can't remember if I posted here that the Agent of the Wild audiobook has gone off to ACX for approval/verification, but if not, here's your official warning. 😁

If nothing goes wrong, it should go live sometime in the next 7-10 days.

Hopefully, it being less of a dumpster fire than last. 😁

Happy New Year, everyone! Let's hope for a little bit more sanity and a lot more kindness in 2026.

It was a down year for me as an author, but I came perilously close to 5 million page reads on Kindle Unlimited and that didn't at all suck.

Got to be honest; I haven't paid much attention to the Pels this week and it looks like they haven't either.
