Two talks of Alice&Bob QEC team in parallel this morning:
@diego-ruiz.bsky.social presented his new results on distillation with biased-noise qubits: with bias=30 he already gets 150x reduction!
I talked about implementing rotor codes
So many fun subjects to work on, join our team we are hiring!🐱

Playing with hypergraph products and torsion in integer matrices, we get a tiger surface code whose protection against loss and dephasing increases with system size. This tiger surface code cannot be expressed as the concatenation of single-mode bosonic code with a qubit code

Many new folks here, welcome!
Let me introduce our new preprint with Yijia Xu, Yixu Wang and @vva.bsky.social on tiger codes 🐅 !
Multimode bosonic codes with low order dissipators and linear photon number constraints that can be measured simultaneously.

After a flight 🛫 delayed a good 6 hours 🕕, I finally landed in Chicago! I'm there for the quantum error correction workshop at IMSI. There is a great list of speakers, looking forward!

To illustrate how quantum superposition and measurements work one can use a smartphone 📱 and two pairs of 👓 3D glasses 👓 to measure the emitted polarized light in different basis successively.
What other simple experiments one can do to illustrate quantum principles ? 🧪⚛️

Does every single post I make appear in the quantum bluesky feed?
Here is an apple beautifully colorized by my 4 year old to test.
