That's an important point - read the guidelines carefully and pay particular attention to what are the reviewing criteria. Write clear parts directly addressing these criteria - helping the reviewer with key arguments for each one

Get as much feedback from as many people as possible. Real feedback that challenges the substance as well as the form. From specialists and non-specialists: never forget the decisive opinion will likely be from a non-specialist.

Find and ask people who got the specific fellowship and mentors who had postdocs that got it for advice. Even better, try to get a couple of successful application documents as guides. Take your time, alternate between scientific (when inspired) and admin (when blocked).

Actually the Y coordinate is fine (ImageJ has Y top to bottom, while my graphing webapp uses bottom to top). As always, it was a problem with a string/number misunderstanding in the macro language. PSA: always parseFloat() a number you get from a dialog box
