Hi Connie! Can you tell me about rolled top? I actually prefer knitting toe up, but I imagine the principal is the same. Do you just knit and cast off in stocking stitch, or is there a trick to it? Like your socks btw

Absolutely no problem. Upstrokes can be a bit scratchy unless you take the pressure off, and remember to underline right to left, but those Lamy Safaris seem to anticipate your every move. I love them.

Me too. And since woollen socks don't need to be washed so often, I reckon five pairs should do it. Not, of course, that we shall stop at five.

Sadly I've had to stop feeding the birds because we have two cats who hunt. I know nature is red in tooth and claw, but I'd rather keep that knowledge at a distance.

Ça dépend, puisqu'il y du métal, du papier, du carton, souvent traité d'une couche de plastique, papier alu, etctera. On dit que c'est tout recyclé, mais qui sait?

It's swings and roundabouts, though. Living in the country, compost bins are available at a reduced price, but there's no central composting, which means that people without gardens have problems with food waste. Friends with hens are a godsend. Their eggs too!

No, it really doesn't. Being left handed put me off fountain pens for years, I had a bad experience with them at school. But buy a good quality nib, find how to hold the pen you're using, and then just think about the push and pull of letter forming. Good luck.
