Another year of birth was given by another (reasonably contemporary) source as 1797 (same month).

Frustrating, isn’t it? He was said to have been third son of a Matthew McEnery (a friend’s testimony). The family emigrated to USA, while he stayed to study in Limerick.

Yes, he found a few of those amazing teeth in Kents Cavern - the first from a British context. Please send me the archivist’s details, that would be really helpful.

I would love to find his baptism (conflicting dates are reported) There's other material I'm still looking for, including some letters he wrote which were (in 1938) in archives of the diocese of Limerick, but said to be 'lost' in 1960.
