A#2: Also yes! Responses were slower for high-variability word frames than low-variability frames, parallel to music data. Across speech and music, adaptation to sound sources displays similar, general responses to stimulus acoustic variability. (4/4)

A#1: Yes! Labeling pitches as low or high was significantly faster and more accurate for similar-sounding instruments (oboe, trumpet, clarinet, alto sax) than different-sounding instruments (marimba, tubular bells, cello, trombone), similar to speech data (Stilp & Theodore, 2020). (2/4)

SCEs were calculated for each listener in each frequency region then correlated across frequency, but no correlations were significant. This was observed across two independent listener samples. This suggests limits on the consistency of spectral context effects in speech perception. (2/2)
