I would offer that studios can choose which artists to work with, and also choose how much (or how little) freedom to give those artists.

Certainly reasons to crap on Adobe, but I have a small creative shop and actually use all of Premiere, After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop, inDesign *regularly*. I can't afford to spend time trying to stitch together untested workflows between a myriad of other apps that may (or may not) work.
