On electricity bills, there’s the very striking conclusion that overall costs to consumers would not increase from the shift to a clean power system.

And there’s a very clear story emerging on the importance of demand flex. This is one of our primary routes to reveal cheaper prices for consumers - their participation in moving peaks of demand and responding to when the wind blows might be the secret sauce of achieving CP2030.

We’ll also need to support the build of *a lot* of new renewable generation - of all types, but especially offshore wind.
This is the UK’s strength. 2030 is a near-term signal we need to fully restore investor confidence in our renewables market.

- an alternative scenario, with slightly lower renewable generation, but more ‘low-carbon dispatchable’ power (CCS or Hydrogen) to replace gas.

These were strong proposals to decarbonise Scottish buildings over time, targeting the critical point of sale.

Here’s how we see the changes of the last few months.
There’s *a lot* of new policy required to hit our targets. And the political environment for that new policy has ‘narrowed’ - which we fear will make things harder. As will the PM’s decision to rule out demand-side measures.
