Last Friday night I was painting and had the awards ceremony for the Oil Painters of America streaming. After about an hour I heard the juror Patrick Saunders mention my name. I had to figure out how to rewind the stream to find out that I was awarded Honorable Mention for Realism. My first award.

Honored to have two of my recent paintings “Contemplation” and the “The Dealer” (both oil on linen, 24”x30”) juried into Salmagundi Club’s 47th Annual Open Painting show in New York in June. And they are using “Contemplation” to promote the show!

First post here. A portrait of my 17 year old daughter. I was testing out a new photo light and asked her to stand there so I could see how it worked. She went away for two weeks and came back to this painting. She wasn’t pleased.
