A secret we can’t afford to be best kept. Student loans, associated debt and numbers who graduate with debt continue to fall. A whopping 41 percent of resident undergrads pay no tuition. Only 30 percent pay the sticker price. #GoCougs governmentrelations.wsu.edu/2025/12/17/t...

I love me a good hangout to plug in and chill in between engagements when I’m buzzing around the state. In Everett, it’s always The Muse. One of my best mates used to work in this historic structure back when it was the Weyerhaeuser Building, before it was relocated to the port.

On a tour led by the Soil Health Initiative, an effort between WSU, the state Department of Agriculture, and the state Conservation Commission. South of Wenatchee we’re learning how KMO Orchard uses compost to produce bigger, firmer cherries and “working with nature rather than against it.” #GoCougs

Doing the Cougs’ work in the daring & decisive 42nd Legislative District and the endearing & engaging 40th District. The park is named for the honorable Harriet Spanel, who spent a dozen years in the Legislature through 2009. It’s marvelous to be reminded of her again. #GoCougs

Doing the Cougs’ work in the confident and courageous 24th Legislative District. If you didn’t know, Aldrich’s is the Davenport of Port Townsend. #GoCougs

Today we lost longtime legislator Phyllis Gutiérrez Kenney, the trailblazing daughter of migrant farmworkers, and my representative in the 46th District for many years. She was a legend and mentor to many — including me. Her family is in my prayers.

Magnificent and emotional “Melebration” to celebrate the retirement and career of @wsuvancouver.bsky.social Chancellor Mel Netzhammer, just the second to lead this campus over 36 years. An absolute rock in the WSU system. #GoCougs

Lukewarm take: The playoff whiteout in Winnipeg is one of the more underrated spectacles in sports.
There’s nothing quite like the Winnipeg Whiteout.

When it's time to write the book on WSU's 11th president, I hope the author calls me. Kirk was just what we needed and has led our university with dignity and honor, and has taught us a few things about being a better version of ourselves.

On March 28, 1890 Gov. Elisha Ferry signed into a law a bill to establish what we know as WSU and another to accept the terms of the Morrill Act of 1862 and the federal land grant that came with it. There were six bills in the Legislature to establish the college. #GoCougs @wsunews.bsky.social

@mariners.com broadcasters sound like they’re calling the game from home. There’s a giant crowd and yet a muted audible response when the home team takes the lead with an 8th inning homer. For what I’m paying to get this on @rootsportsnw.bsky.social this is… insufficient.
