Deafheaven tonight in Belfast. Quite possibly my gig of the year. Fourth time I've seen them and the best so far.

Listening to two fantastic 2011 albums back to back. Both still sound so fresh.

Two days before my 16th birthday but I didn't hear it until the following year. I'm allowing it.

The new Suede album is so goddamn good, and I've never really been much of a fan before. Never seen them live but I'm dying to now.

Nothing posted to the Stephen Colbert YouTube channel since Friday. Have CBS had enough of how popular his scorched-earth monologues have become?

The setlist, thanks to a kind human who let me take a photo. 2 Rights was a nice surprise. We're No Here as well. Hi Chaos the best of the newies, sounded colossal. Satan I've heard nearly every time I've seen them but it still delivers. Quiet/loud has probably never been bettered.

Bought two DJ-KICKS records from the !K7 website, one came with a download code and one didn't.

Infuriating, especially when the vinyl versions only give you about half of the tracks, and no DJ mix.

For the price you pay for vinyl, surely it's a no-brainer.

Oh well, Soulseek it is...

First listen in a long time.

And So I Watch You From Afar - Gangs (2011)

Lots of good memories with this one. They still bring it live too, immense set at Beyond The Pale festival recently.

They sure don't make @allmusic.com reviews like this any more. Fortunately.

Little payday spree on Bandcamp, feat. Space Dimension Controller, Blawan x2, Or:la, New Jackson (David Kitt) - all downloads - and two Fennesz CDs I bought the other day. Plus recent purchases by Martyn and Cindy Lee. What a year it's been.
