Murder/Mystery and thriller. I like to read these types of novels and maybe try and work it out before I get to the end. But even if not, it's satisfying being able to see the clues afterwards that I missed or forgot.

Usually the weather comes later if I feel it would benefit, unless I need the weather as a plot point, eg in my latest novel the weather kicks off the plot with the damage it causes

I rely on wording because it's a novel. Everything must be conveyed in words without overloading the reader with unnecessary detail, to allow the reader to use their own imagination to immerse themselves in the story.

No. I have ideas in my head as I'm writing but no illustrations
