Trying to restart this account. Focus will be history, law, and politics. Midwestern guy living in the desert. Love good food, history, politics, musical theater, and baseball. I’m married, we have two dogs. Lawyer by day.
I think we need to just be happy when these people finally leave the Trump camp. It was known that Trump is cruel and inhumane, but if this is the excuse this guy needs to use as cover to dump Trump now, let’s just welcome it.

I’ve always wanted to open a little piano bar / caberet space. I feel like that’s a young person’s game, but I could still manage it right now. Guaranteed income might make that doable.

Has the US Government officially notified US Airlines not to fly there? That would seem important.

Proofreading fail, but I’m sure you get the drift.

Same here. It’s like that act is a visual representation of everything destructive thing he has done.

I understand the sentiment. Unfortunately, we live in a time when doing this would be irresponsible. However, it is still important to make the time for the things we love and that keep us sane. It’s the balance that is important.

This was a state case. Garland and Biden had nothing to do with it.

What he would “rather do” is less important than what he CAN do with so little time remaining. People can’t afford any sort of gap between the current subsidies and whatever it is he thinks he can do. Even if he had a plan that passed tomorrow, how would there be time to implement it?

I say: US envoy tips scales in favor of Russia, betrays US allies.

Niche answer. There was supposed to be a film version of the musical “City of Angels” at one point, but it never happened. I still want it. #broadway #theater #musicals #movies

Oh good! The dangerous, shadowy, intrusive, un/under-regulated “too big to stop.”

It SOUNDS like something George Will would have written.

I really enjoyed Rogue One; but I see some validity in criticism if it too. When I saw The Last Jedi, I said it was my favorite Star Wars movie; I think that may still be true. Empire and Revenge of the Sith are up there.

Oh, I’m very aware of the history.

I wonder how much of that decline can be attributed to increase in direct religious participation in politics. (Particularly the rise of the religious right.) I have anecdotal evidence from my own life of political divides being a big factor in the decline of a specific congregation.

That would be great; my post didn’t even go that far. I’d be thrilled with a public option competing against private insurance at this point.
