Veering slightly off the topic of spooky stuff, but his OUT OF THE PAST is basically the Platonic ideal of a noir. It’s playing at the New Bev in LA in September—looking forward to that screening!

Yesssss—this is what I came here to rec. More people should be in the Jacques Pack! Nobody creates atmosphere like him, usually in a trim sub-90 minute package.

Oh my god, I saw this on the big screen at a Stooges festival when I was 17 and I have never forgotten it. Another of their funniest bits is when they try to teach Curly pig-latin:
“Moe… Oh-may. Larry… Arry-lay. Curly…?”
“Curly-cue!”
“Moe… Oh-may. Larry… Arry-lay. Curly…?”
“Curly-cue!”
