Today, @butserancientfarm.co.uk Oli, Dave and I managed to finish cutting timber on the table saw to finally complete the main structure of the compost bays. It's taken four Wednesdays.
Dave set to work on the frame for the cold frame. He was very pleased...
Nice to see projects completed.

Walking group ended up at Fort Nelson on Portsdown Hill for a visit to the current installation. A time for quiet reflection; poignant letters home "in the event of not coming back".

Today, @butserancientfarm.co.uk Dave, Oli and I have been continuing with developing the compost bay, with integrated potting area. Still a make do, scrounge, or create materials project. Next week we'll have to cut more timber.

I'd go back to underlying principles, appropriate for learning at different stages of education. In essence, it's children making sense of their learning experiences. After all, it's their journey, led and supported by adults...

Small gardening tip from an uncle many years ago. When harvesting cabbage, cut about 6in(15cm) up the stalk, then leave the stalk in the ground. It'll produce a small crop of mini cabbage later. 2 for 1?

My volunteering day @butserancientfarm.co.uk. A varied diet; sign writing for a Handfasting celebration on Saturday, completing dismantling of the pig area with Dave, Patrick and both Wills and Angus, sorting timber for future projects, creating a new wattling station for a Sunday group activity.

"In the light of morning" by Tim Pears. Set in May 1944; a small team of British soldiers parachuted into Slovenia. Very well drawn characters, setting and a strong plot line that follows weeks tramping and camping through rugged countryside to supply different units, leading to personal insights.

Today @butserancientfarm.co.uk the Wednesday working group volunteers worked together to continue dismantling the pig sty and the surrounding fenced area. Sounds easier than it turned out to be; a real green gym workout.
