Possibly tastier?

Yeah,
Good faith (but bad consequences) error by a member of the public pointing the finger at the wrong person.
This is why getting the police to release everything early on has so much scope to go wrong

If there was room for "airport style security" there'd be room for passport control too, then we could have international services from the new HS2 stations...

Very early moving lights; notice the control is nothing like as smooth as modern desks would manage.
Difference being they were rare expensive beasts back then.

....and now I feel nerdier than I ever would talking about anything academic

I could foresee something like this happening in Birmingham come May: labour are (long term) incumbents here, but there have been problems. Liddems just one a bi election (admittedly in a lid de friendly ward)

Around here (stirchley, south Birmingham) local businesses that have helped remove them have been vandalised, the fear of reprisals is real

Everyone I know who has been to Dubai speaks of all the British residents they met as being very reform voting

Linkedin is definitely somewhere you use because you should, not because anyone is enjoying the process. Generally there's a marketing or social media team involved somehow

Hey, half my school thought they were in the ICF.

I mean, they weren't and it was a long time ago but still that's contact with it?

I'm so glad no one I work with now is even slightly interested in football. There was far too much chat about shit west midlands football teams in a previous jobs

Birmingham will of course be the last place to adopt this, but it can't come soon enough.
I feel like @jordanbhx.bsky.social would approve of this

Also, uni's used until very recently to be able to be part of delivering apprenticeships, that's just been stopped.

We used to offer a rail apprenticeship that was very popular with people wanting to step up a bit in their rail career and it seemed to work well for all involved

Yes! That was my youthful internet. And the buffy swears keyboard. All sorts of flash based nonsense, when a)flash was a thing and b) youtube wasn't.

Also chats like this were conducted in random fora, rather than subreddits or microblogging sites.
