Or, you could leave, and not come back, and use your skills and talent to build a better life in a less fascist country that doesn't hate you. Just sayin'

That also applies to cats.

"We don't like this can, open another can!" "No, this one is no good either, ANOTHER!"

Demanding little assholes. Exhausting.

Yeah - I just don't read that piece and think "media". I read it and think "misogyny" and "men" - and I worry saying "media" is just deflecting. Men got problems and we need to own those.

I spent 3 decades in Edmonton winters - walking, skiing, riding bikes, etc. You can do whatever you like with my opinions. I'm grabbing the goggles at -25. It's not safety gear, it's every day gear in those temps. Also, why try to build a case for *not* wearing gear? Do you do that for pants?
December 20, 2025 at 12:39 AM
Yeah, but if just went *poof* and disappeared all of postmedia from existence... I feel like it would barely leave a dent in what's going on. There's still Tate and Twitter and Trump, and all the rest, all around the whole world. Postmedia is just but one symptom of a huge problem.
December 20, 2025 at 12:31 AM
The capture of the national post and our media by the right wing is a relatively recent phenomenon. And they certainly stoke it. But I'm absolutely not going to lay all of this at their feet. The rests at the feet of ALL the men willing to spout this shit. It's misogyny that existed for a long time.
December 20, 2025 at 12:25 AM
Not, it's not sarcasm. And I'm not being an apologist - the post is certainly vile.

That said, as men, we need to be careful not to just blame the media for all of this.

As the article says "it lives in members of the population." "is a latent social undercurrent."

That's far more than the post.
December 20, 2025 at 12:21 AM
Postmedia didn't create all those vile men.

And, in case the question wasn't rhetorical - you expose *zero* flesh. Dual-lens ski goggles over your balaclava. Boots that are two sizes too large to preserve the loft of your wool socks and wiggle room. Wool inner-gloves underneath larger outer mittens. Wind-proof outer layers. Have fun.

Yep, you know it's cold when the water on the surface of your eyeball freezes unless you keep blinking to keep it warm 😆
December 19, 2025 at 9:11 AM
I mean, fuck that guy. But also, fuck any "journalism" organization that doesn't understand there's likely two sides to every story, and fails to demand receipts before acting.
December 18, 2025 at 10:31 PM
Actually, the "we can't be everywhere at once" defense is even more infuriating when you think about it. Remember "You may only enter this hospital if you remove your N95 and use this surgical mask"? It's like, my guys, you weren't "everywhere at once" - more like you weren't anywhere _at_all_.

We're just fallible humans, so it's totally understandable we've left our heads in the sand and ignored years of scientific research. p.s. wash your hands
December 17, 2025 at 9:43 PM
They all grew up in this world where we'd built fields of new single family homes and new roads and new sewers, and they want that status quo, with all their parking, and no increasing density/congestion. They have zero clue it's entirely unsustainable - that their taxes don't cover maintenance.

Some years ago, I (Canadian), took a Caribbean cruise w a bunch of Americans, who kept asking how afraid I was to live in the city without having a gun, and how could I defend myself against muggers, car jackers, etc. So much fear. So far from any sense of community. Sad.

"FREE with most insurance"

How much does the insurance cost?

HOW MUCH DOES THE INSURANCE COST?

God, what a shithole country.

I question anyone still using that platform who thinks of themselves as progressive.
December 13, 2025 at 2:46 AM
It bugs me, cuz it's supposed to be one of our primary regional cycling routes, yet it's full of speeding rat running motorists, and they could throw some bollards in there to fix it all in like two days, for a cost of like 32 cents.

If he keeps posting videos about property taxes going up because land values go up because of provincial zoning mandates, I'm gonna lose it.
