Am too lazy to organize this into a thread of replies! But here is how i would answer this question
A screen shot of the apple notes app the text is as follows: sorry long reply inkoming! Warrior cats was big for me too! I was introduced to furries through the online warrior cats fandom! I was also attracted to a lot of other animal media as a kid. I was constantly daydreaming about being a shapeshifting,sentient talking animal in 3rd/4th grade (especially the dog from Bolt) I played animal jam religiously from 2nd to 6th grade and started drawing in 2nd or 3rd because of MLP. I was already primed for drawing a ton of animals. By the time i hit middle school and finally learned what furries were, it just felt natural and comfortable. It was like an itch i didn’t realize i had. A big part of this fandom for me is the self expression through art. I was a pretty lonely kid and was never really comfortable in my own skin (two things that are still pretty true, but i’ve gotten better) so the ability to represent myself and my thoughts/emotions in a way that separates them from my physical self helps with processing and figure those things out.
