I'm starting with the skirt bc I can't find sequins I like for the top yet :') I used the vector patterns from Alice in Cosplayland to cut out the vinyl and fused it onto the fabric. So far I have the fashion layer sewn. Now for the lining, then final assembly! No zip bc s t r e t c h

I found this really nice iridescent stretch pleather in Japan (yes I dragged my husband fabric shopping on our honeymoon) that my group will use for the base fabric. It's not quite accurate, but it's pretty and will lend some structure to Mira's jacket while still suitable for Rumi's top.

The pants are just a bloomer pattern that I took in at the waist; I could have done an elastic waist, but I want the green trim to remain flat so suffering it is. Elastic at the leg ends tho bc I only chose moderate amounts of violence

Done! ... ok apart from the clips at the wrist, but I wanted to wait until my husband got home to test the fit before I added them. They actually fit p perfectly, so I'm quite pleased that my 2am breakdown last night wasn't for naught 😌

Ok! Just gotta add the scuba, hand sew the inner edge of the trim to the inside, and add the closure :) I'll do that tomorrow bc it's late and I'm done lol

I'm planning to leave ~1" of the vertical seam unconnected and use a hook and eye closure at the wrist. This means I don't have to add elastic at the ends; despite these being made of spandex, I actually don't want them to stretch much lol. It's just to match the tank top fabrics. Womp womp.

What I DID feel like working on was the arm ...puffs; I added a thin trim of lightweight interfacing to the ends to give the ruffling some stability. I'm ruffling down the slightly larger than the wrist, then I'll add the trim and the scuba.

Ok sorry process was been postponed by work/life/bb-sized breakdown but we're back at it! I still need to add the trim to the collar; I'll add scuba to the inside to give it a bit of thickness. But that is for later bc I wanna try it on my husband first/I don't feel like it atm.

I like to set reasonable expectations for myself, like this one!

For the trim for this (and a bunch of other elements) I'm using some pearlescent finish stretch vinyl I had on hand because I thought it would add some nice ~alien~ texture and also it helps stash bust. I chose a fabric I needed to dye vs buying new fabric in the right color bc I enjoy suffering

I promise the color is WAY better in person but I've started sewing the bottom tank top using the Bee Tank Top pattern from Mood Fabrics for the lil cowl neck he got going on. Gonna finish it Friday once I get a chance to run to the store and buy thread that actually matches for topstitching oops
