It’s time for Scotland to move beyond the union – and claim our rightful place on the world stage.

It's what you learn after you know it all that counts. 🤔
Like i said - best you just ignore him- or blocked him like i have done.

It's hilarious you don't get the irony.

Agreed - and not just Starmer.

Chuck a piece of one in the air and the dug would've scoffed it before it hits the lino.

Wait for the reaction 🕛

Proceed accordingly.

Or read the label on the package.

😉 😜

Don’t bother trying to reason with him.

He constantly twists the narrative to defend his flawed arguments.

No matter how many facts and figures you present, he won’t agree - all he relies on is GERS.
November 17, 2025 at 7:47 PM
Completely agree - the Russell Anderson Foundation’s work is exceptional and the staff and volunteers fully deserve every bit of praise.

But in a nation increasingly leaning towards a republic, a King’s award isn’t necessarily the accolade.

The real honour is the impact they make every day.

There are at least two prominent transgender people recognised as billionaires.

Jennifer Pritzker
Martine Rothblatt

What should we do with them 🤔

Westminster controls nearly all the economic levers used to judge us.

Independence simply puts those powers in Scotland’s hands.

I’ve no intention or interest in continuing to respond to arguments based heavily on a flawed set of figures like GERS.

That’s my final word on the matter.

Good night.

world-class renewables, high-value exports, top universities and a skilled workforce.

Countries our size (Ireland, Denmark, Finland, Norway) are thriving.

There’s nothing Scotland lacks that they have.

The only thing holding Scotland back is Westminster.
November 16, 2025 at 7:35 PM
You believe Scotland has a massive deficit - unionist talk - under the control of Westminster.

Of course Scotland could be a successful independent country.
We’ve got the resources, talent and economy that most small independent nations would envy.
November 16, 2025 at 7:35 PM
You keep insisting there’s no evidence that Scotland could manage as an independent country.

Maybe try looking into the reasons why Scotland can succeed, instead of only searching for reasons it can't.

Perhaps you’re simply a committed unionist.

Either way, I’ll leave it there. Good evening.
November 16, 2025 at 7:16 PM
The UK, by contrast is a centralised state where power ultimately sits at Westminster.

Scotland’s institutions can be overruled, its democratic choices ignored and its constitutional status changed without its consent.

That’s not partnership - that’s hierarchy.

Scotland is colonised.
November 16, 2025 at 7:07 PM
The EU is a voluntary partnership of independent states

Every member keeps full sovereignty, chooses to join, chooses to stay and has a real say in the rules.

It’s a union built on cooperation - pooled powers on shared issues and full control retained everywhere else. If you want out you can leave
November 16, 2025 at 7:07 PM
Eventually yes.

Most of Scotland’s infrastructure for government is already in place.

A 2-5 year transition period would more than cover it.

To suggest it'd be more expensive than Brexit is pure folly.

Of the many countries who have gained independence from Westminster none have asked to rejoin.
November 16, 2025 at 7:04 PM
Corbyn’s party would likely attract progressive Scottish voters on both sides

left-wing Unionists and soft-left independence supporters. (May's Holyrood election isn't a referendum).

Hardcore Indy voters would mostly stick with the SNP and Greens.

But you're right - no need for another Yoon Party
November 16, 2025 at 6:53 PM
GERS reflects Scotland’s finances within the UK, not as an independent country.

Non‑identifiable expenditure (UK‑wide or internationally allocated spending) and costs that we would not incur in an independent Scotland is apportioned to Scotland.

GERS does not attribute all income to Scotland.
November 16, 2025 at 6:27 PM
If any proof were needed, Scotland’s position as a colony in this so-called “equal” Union is clear.

Westminster is, in reality, just England’s parliament under a UK flag.
November 16, 2025 at 5:55 PM
If Scotland became independent it would negotiate a fair share of UK debt for a share of UK assets including

Foreign reserves and gold

UK-owned buildings and offices overseas

Military or infrastructure facilities

Shares in public corporations or institutions

Civil service pension assets

Etc.
November 16, 2025 at 4:34 PM
Debt allocation is a matter of negotiation, not automatic obligation.

Any fair division of UK debts would almost certainly involve agreeing to a share of UK assets.

a small trade for full control over Scotland’s future.
