Passionate supporter of human rights. Trying hard to be a student of history. Finding it quite discouraging. Proud CDN in Toronto. Recent victim of USC 922(G)(7)
The pipeline is a stupid idea that flies in the face of our collective needs to address climate change. Canada has subsidized the O&G business since its inception (when it made sense to do so). That should end immediately and we should stop fantasizing about producing and shipping more carbon.

Astonishing that he gets away with it. And interesting that @theglobeandmail.com and @nationalpost.bsky.social seemingly ignore it.

Hodgson is Carney's policy-twin. Neither man cares about anything beyond increasing corporate profitability. Climate change? It's just a modest inconvenience.

Sensible thread. Carney is proving himself a fraud. His only apparent interest lies in preserving the oil and gas status quo (which includes letting such producers escape from their environmental clean-up obligations). We must stop burning carbon, and we must stop selling it to others.

He is principled (and undoubtedly quite lonely).

If you agree, please him a congratulatory note:

This highlights the challenges associated with multi-mission aircraft. The A-10 was brilliant because it did just one mission extremely well. The F-35 is an energy pig because it lugs around the energy-sucking consequence of too many missions.

I think you are confused if you think Carney cares about anything beyond the financial health of corporate Canada.

My apologies…. 75 years.

It’s not just January and February; think 50 years.

Agreed. But many voters, particularly elderly voters, likely think they’re supporting the Conservative Party of 20 years ago. I think Canada would be advantaged if voting was mandatory; the percentage of Canadians who currently vote has been slipping for decades.

Smart move. Kind of embarrassing that it’s taken the City this long to actually act when the evidence has been clear for a decades, but better late than never.
