Are robbery and coercion new American ideals?
January 7, 2026 at 9:31 AM
The article says only Western military force can stop “global rogues,” but since the West decides who the rogues are, it’s really saying the West is the judge, jury, and enforcer of rules that suit itself.

The association is ludicrous. Whatever the U.S. does will not affect one bit China’s indisputable sovereignty over Taiwan.

Kidnapping the leader of a sovereign nation set a precedent that throws all laws and norms out the window. I hope Trump could see what a dangerous game he is playing.

Such drills are increasingly necessary in light of the ramped-up U.S. weapons sales to Taiwan. The message is clear: the mainland will always be ready to deter Taiwan separatists and their enablers, however well-armed the enemy might be.

The vulnerability matters only if the U.S. pushes China, a peace-loving country, into war with it.

The filing argued that China could “weaponize dependencies” and use its control of the global chip industry to economically coerce other countries.

This sounds exactly like what the U.S. has been doing all along, cutting off chip supplies to China as a bargaining chip in the trade war!

The Monroe Doctrine is making an ominous comeback, and the rest of the world should unite in opposing it. No sovereign nation should be subject to the aggression Venezuela is currently facing.

A scandalous landmark in the U.S. profiting from plunging the Taiwan Strait into the shadow of war.
December 19, 2025 at 9:24 AM
Official Japanese data shows 562,600 mainland visitors in November, up just 3% year on year, a sharp slowdown from the 111% growth recorded a year earlier and a steep decline from October and September levels.

Macron made the right choice by rejecting a purely protectionist response, such as sweeping tariffs, a sword that cuts both ways, and calling for coordinated action to address trade imbalances between Europe and China.
December 17, 2025 at 9:44 AM
Keeping saying Taiwan is ready for war with the mainland won’t make that a reality. Seeking peace is the only viable option for Taiwan.
December 16, 2025 at 9:53 AM
In its eagerness to curry favor with the United States, Mexico is undermining not only China’s interests but also its own.
December 12, 2025 at 2:14 PM
No amount of information would be enough if you are only looking for excuses. And is sending Japanese warplanes to the drill area an attempt at avoiding danger?
December 12, 2025 at 5:38 AM
It’s rich for the U.S. to say that China's actions are "not conducive to regional peace and stability" when it was Japanese jets harassing China's normal military exercise that triggered the latest spike in tensions between China and Japan.
December 11, 2025 at 7:48 AM
Trump tariffs are shaping up to be an epic failure.
December 9, 2025 at 9:11 AM
How can the message be worrying? Does Japan crave a souring relationship with China, together with all the costly economic and diplomatic impacts that come with it?
November 27, 2025 at 9:54 AM
Is Lai Ching-te encouraged by what Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi said about her country defending Taiwan? He would be stupid to do so because, at the end of the day, the U.S. will not allow Japan to fight a shooting war with the Chinese mainland.
November 26, 2025 at 9:07 AM
This Big Read article begins with a big mistake: Why is China's response to senselessly provocative remarks from Japan a "challenge"?
November 24, 2025 at 9:08 AM
These are hardly the only everyday people in both countries dealing with the fallout from the Japanese PM’s outrageous remarks on Taiwan.
November 21, 2025 at 9:07 AM
There’s nothing wrong with clarifying one’s stance on the core question of sovereignty. And why is China labeled “aggressive” when it’s Taiwan’s so-called “friends” dragging it toward war and ruin?
November 20, 2025 at 9:03 AM
A meaningless gesture for Japanese fishermen, who are paying the price for their prime minister’s foolish remarks with the loss of the Chinese mainland market.
November 20, 2025 at 9:01 AM
Don't listen to what the U.S. says, pay attention to what it does.
November 19, 2025 at 8:51 AM
It is not in the interest of the U.S. to see the relationships between China and Japan deteriorate. Reducing the presence of U.S. military assets in Japan, if carried out on a sustained basis, could significantly help ease tensions between the two.
November 18, 2025 at 10:24 AM
The comments on Taiwan crossed the Chinese mainland's red line. In that sense, Takaichi ratcheted up the tensions first and all the way to a highly dangerous level.
