1/2 of the "Pink Floyd" name origins!

They were really great people. Butt Trumpet's last song they played live was about needing a place to crash, I wasn't sure if they were being ironic so I reluctantly offered and they were so pumped and we had a fun hang!

Apologies if we've sone this before, you may have showed this awhile back.

Nice one! Our paths have crossed over the years, Butt Trumpet stayed at my apt. in Buffalo on tour in the 90's. I'd see Betty Blowtorch play when I moved to LA. And later in SF I had a band with a gal who had previously played with Sharon and Blare for awhile. Love to see this.

Hey thx for the reminder, I had these bookmarked to order months ago and totally spaced it. They're out of vol 1 and 3 at the source but I was able to grab 2 and 4!

Nothing wrong with art gallery or backyard party shows but damn the club scene suffered.

Indeed. Well stated. To me it kinda represented that last gasp of the punk/DIY scene before the .com era eroded most of that movement. Al's, Moguls, Bar Deluxe, Garage etc. all disappeared and you had to go to art galleries or backyard parties to catch a good band...

I played a handful of shows at The Garage and DJ'd some Tigermask events as well as Custom Made Charlies event "Whorehouse", I used to DJ that side room. I miss that spot.

I remember that weekly and likely attended at least once, but memories are hazy. She introduced The Flesh Eaters once when I was with them but I think it was at Moguls in Hollywood.

Woulda been cool to catch that first LA show at the Garage. That was my local haunt for years. Any mention of that spot makes me nostalgiac...

Just remembering, memories are hazy but I'm fairly certain this copy of "Hip-Hug-Her" was in that same box. Somehow I still have these and they aren't totally trashed!

Yeah I remember doombient, Nathan Moody coined "angrient" around then also. Naturally I noticed Blakmoth when he started popping up as I'd been doing similar stuff and there weren't any other black guys in modular who weren't doing modbap. I appreciated that.

I haven't been aware of anything new, he works with a small label called Errorgrid. Haven't listened to him in ages, but he has a load of releases. Curious what you think after you dig in a bit.

Chatted with him briefly when he started getting into modular. He was working with an odd format modular. He went ham and released like 30 albums in a month.
