I was wondering. Since Chieri can shapeshift at will, how much importance would she put on physical traits? If she tried to draw a human, would she consider details like hair or clothes important? Or would she consider "activity-relevant" things the only things that really matter?

I focused primarily on the movement here, not so much on the quality, which is why the hands are just balls and the hair looks so weird. I'm getting better at drawing the hoodie though!

I want to practice action scenes, but it's difficult without making them very elaborate. But if I make them elaborate, they'd take forever to finish. What are some good action moves that are only a couple seconds' worth of animation? I should probably try those...

I want to draw Arthur more often, especially interacting or just hanging out with Chieri. Bonus point, you can now see what he looks like without his hat! I experimented a little bit with the lighting here, but I feel like I'll need more than that to reach That Next Step.

No worries! If she was ACTUALLY mad, she would look quite different...

Not much of an animation, but I wanted to make some RPG-style mugshots of Chieri to practice facial expressions. Hopefully you can tell what each emotion is supposed to be, and they look cute/charming enough (since that's what the practice was about!).

Bonus gif: Mugshots in their natural habitat!

Thank you! 😊

Would you believe she was even LESS hunched over in the original sketch? Maybe I could have went further with that.

And yes, the "darkness filter" is definitely helping her vibe 🙃 Just playing around I'm sure...

I wanted to try something different. I might need this effect in the future, so I thought this would be a good time to see how well I can pull it off.

...Did I pull it off? What do you think?

Originally it's intended to imply depth. Slime is semi-transparent, and thicker parts of it would be a darker color as those parts let through less light.

If it looks wrong without the dark spots, I can bring them back. It's not THAT much of a difference, an hour or two of work tops.

🤔❔

I did end up removing some of the dark bits from her hair, specifically from the bulbs, to make her easier to animate. How much of a difference does their absence make? Should I put them back? I can if it looks wrong.

Slow, subtle movements are actually pretty hard to animate, so I wanted to practice them. Not sure how well I did, but I think at least the expression and the little speech bubble look nice!
