When information was scarce, it was power.

Then information became cheap, and execution became power.

Now information is infinite, and finding what’s true is power again.

Do these websites know content is displaying on only 1/3 of the screen and the rest is ads?

How is this acceptable hahaha

I'm writing an essay that's hugely important to me, that nobody seems to talk about.

Title: I’m Afraid I’ll Build a Business That Makes Money But I’m Not Proud Of

This is the best framework on product metrics I've ever seen:

Wish I read it when I was working as a PM.

Will be applying it to my business.

Thanks @asmartbear.com !

Started compiling 'Chiara's Almanack' - aphorisms that I find myself repeating over and over

Here's what I have so far:

1. Everyone makes mistakes. It’s what you do afterwards that counts. (Totally True Love; Norwegian film)

2. Rest if you must, but don’t you quit. (poem by Edgar A. Guest)
I've become interested in books of aphorisms.

- Kevin Kelly: Excellent Advice for Living
- Naval Ravikant: The Almanack of Naval Ravikant (curated by Eric Jorgenson)
- Balaji S: The Anthology of Balaji: A Guide to Technology, Truth, and Building the Future (curated by Eric Jorgenson)

What else?

My favorite page on personal websites is the Archive page with *all* the post titles in reverse chronological order.

Going down @mtlynch.io 's rabbit hole...

Michael's Weekly Updates is so cool: weeks.mtlynch.io

I think I'll start doing it too.

Stumbled upon @mtlynch.io 's lovely blog today.

This made me LOL:

"Despite the fact that it’s a core part of their job, most wedding vendors don’t seem to understand how to send emails to two people at once."

Finally created an Archive page with all my posts ever (223 posts, since 2013!), without having to upgrade from my Ghost starter plan.

Exported the content in json format, then asked ChatGPT to create a markdown file with all the post titles and links, then boom! www.chiaracokieng.com/archive/

Bi-directional linking between TickTick and Google Calendar + split screen view in TickTick is a game changer.

I can finally time block without:

• having tasks duplicate across task manager and google calendar
• marking myself as busy in google calendar because of time blocks

I love this much more nuanced approach to focus vs experimentation
When should you myopically stick with your plan, and when should you take a detour to make some extra money or explore another avenue?

I've navigated this with a conditional 'yes’:
Never say “no,” but rarely say “yes.”
“Focus” requires saying “no” to most things, but there’s a way to do it that allows you to say “yes” exactly when it matters most.

How do people play games on iPhone?

You're forced to watch a 30-60s ad every 3mins or something.

I pay to make them go away but it's not always possible.

I'm not often on YouTube. Is everything 'Give me X minutes, and..." these days?

- Give me 7 minutes and I'll eliminate your self-doubt forever
- Give me 12 minutes, you'll get ahead of 97% of people
- Give me 9min, and I'll improve your storytelling skills by 176%

Eagerly waiting for my 90cmx60cm whiteboard, which I bought to do a Personal Kanban.

I thought it "didn't work" for me because I tried it many times via Trello.

But I think doing it IRL is a game changer.
