I also was made aware of the fact that my obsession with the subject was exposing other survivors to triggering shit for no good reason! I'm done!

And anyway, all that aside, I do not believe these policy makers actually want to fight against sexual violence. We've seen too many examples to the contrary. They just want control and know very well that fear is a very effective way to gain power over others.

So fuck your irrational fears about unsanitized sexual fantasy. Other people's worries about enjoying scary or unpleasant fetish art are not my problem. They don't dictate who I actually am, and neither do my kinks. This is how I fight my OCD symptoms.

More plausible fears were used as a control tactic when I was younger. I was coerced into having my location tracked, and I was regularly insulted for my delivery job when appeals to safety didn't sway me. Now I refuse to let people's anxieties dictate my behavior. My own are enough of a headache

The ability to separate danger from fantasy is really important to me. In the last, intrusive thoughts of monsters lurking around me have regularly sent me into a blind panic. I believe that a social environment where thoughts are a reflection of reality is genuinely harmful to people like me.

We face our fears and grapple with scary ideas through fantasy. Being turned on by the intensity of a fucked up scenario isn't dangerous. It's just a function of our ability to envision and process danger, plausible or not.
