Fatally so. Inferring the GOP does know how to leverage social media algos to their advantage? Holy hell, boy if that’s not the understatement of the decade! The GOP is engaged in INFORMATION WARFARE…weaponized LIES! Until this FACT is acknowledged, broadcast & mitigated, democracy is doomed. 🚩🚩🚩

Nor with incarceration and/or capital punishment for sexuality or refusing to wear headscarves.

True.

Just reread Charlie Wilson's War. That's the lesson of only worrying about the immediate problem in front of you (1980s USSR payback) without regard for the ripple effects (post-occupation power vacuum/ rise of Taliban after the mujahideen following the Soviet pullout).

Iranian civilians at the mercy of both external forces and their own government are some of people in the world most deserving of sympathy. That's a no win existence for sure.
June 23, 2025 at 10:48 PM
And those people suck ass. I call them the American Taliban, and if they ever succeed in establishing a similar type of theocracy here I will be the first one out the door.

No, you said Iran respects human life. And my clearly implied point is and has always been: What country have you been watching for 46 years to support that assertion?

Now, finally, "I never said they were saints"

No shit. It's Iran. (Acknowledging that fact doesn't make Israel good)
June 23, 2025 at 10:40 PM
Whether you hurt other countries or oppress your own people is not the defining characteristics of respecting human rights, that's whataboutism to avoid the original contention that Iran respects life.

And you knew that.
June 23, 2025 at 10:36 PM
Yes. What Israel is doing bad. But it goes back to the original question:

"How does Israel's actions make the Iranian regime not bad?" One doesn't affect the other, that's child-like reasoning.

Israeli atrocities don't absolve Iran of its sins or allow claims like "Iran respects human life."
June 23, 2025 at 10:34 PM
And saying "Israel is worse, therefore Iran respects human life" is"

1. in no way supported by the documented acts of the regime since it's ascension in 1979.

2. The overall crux of your fallacious reasoning.

Nobody here contests whether Israel is committing genocide, asyour citation shows. Your assertion that Israel kills way more LGBTQ people is not supported by the citation, and you sidestep the fact Iran deliberately targets them.

Your assertion that unlike Israel, Iran respecta human life is absurd
June 23, 2025 at 10:21 PM
So, they suck too. But nobody is making claims KSA respects human life, as the OP did w/ Iran

The entire argument is essentially "Larry is fatter than me, therefore I am not fat."

Israel is clearly not respecting human life/rights, but to say that means Iran does is absurd (see original post).

"hundreds of times more" + "it's not even close"

Source: "trust me bro"

aka -

"Ipse Dixit"= A claim that is presented as true without evidence, as self-evident, while still not actually established.
June 23, 2025 at 9:55 PM
No, Mr. Strawman.

The heavily implied point is your statement about Iran showing concern for human life (or human rights) is not supported by basic facts.

It has nothing to do with Israel also being trigger happy. Both are true. It isn't a false choice/dichotomy -dilemma

Logical fallacies abound.

"Hey, Siri/Google - Show me all news articles about Iran hanging people for the crime of homosexuality."

Huh. That's... a lot.

"Hey, Siri/Google... Now show me news articles about the US or Israel executing people for being gay."

Have a nice day in your fantasy world.

Lots of "both sides" BS legitimizing/normalizing one side that has zero interest in honest discourse, minimal ethical norms, respecting institutions that serve as the foundations of society, or being nominally decent people.

Companies using this ad strategy are taking sides with this "neutral" crap
